Transport for London Tree Survey
Elliott Consultancy ltd has been assisting with a tree survey for Transport for London.
The survey is of trees located alongside the red route road network within London’s central boroughs. The primary aim is to create an inventory of the trees, recording details such as location, species, dimensions and condition as well as identifying potential hazards to the network and recommending abatement works where necessary.
Additional information has also been collected which allows monetary values to be given to the trees. The valuing system, developed by the London Tree Officer’s Association, and known as CAVAT (Capital Asset Value for Amenity Trees), allows for the trees to be managed as assets and takes into consideration size, condition, the numbers of people living nearby and the amenity benefit it provides.
